Invite your team

For admins

Not everyone who gets paged needs a login. This article explains the two kinds of people and how to give someone a way to sign in.

Two kinds of people

  • Page-only: they get paged, but have no login.
  • Can sign in: they have a login and a password.

Add page-only people with Settings → People then Add person, or during setup. See Add people and import a CSV.

Give someone a login

There are two ways. Press Invite people on the People page. Or open a page-only person’s menu and choose Invite to sign in. They keep their team.

The sign-in link

Oncall emails the person a sign-in link and shows you a copy you can send yourself, for example in chat. Each is valid for 7 days, works once, and the copy is shown only once. See Invites for why the emailed link is better.

  1. Ama opens the link and sees “Join” followed by your company name.
  2. She sets her name and a password of 8 or more characters.
  3. She presses Accept invite.

Which role to pick

An invite can be for Engineer or Manager. To make someone an admin, change their role afterwards. See Change a role or remove someone.
