Slack status in People
For admins
When Slack is connected, the People page shows each person’s Slack status under their number. It tells you who will get Slack messages and who can acknowledge from Slack. You need the Admin role.
The three statuses
StatusWhat it means
“Slack · linked”
The person connected their Slack account themselves.
“Slack · by email”
Oncall matched them to a Slack member with the same email.
“Not in Slack”
No Slack member uses this email.
If someone is “Not in Slack”
That person gets no Slack messages and cannot acknowledge from Slack. They should link their Slack account from their Profile. Once they do, the status changes to “Slack · linked”.
Who never matches
Guests, and people from other companies in shared channels, never match. They show as Not in Slack even if they appear in a channel.
